Hessenpark –
founded in 1974 as the central Hessian Open-Air Museum. Over 100 buildings – a complete range of farmsteads to day laborer houses – have been reconstructed on 160 acres. As you walk through the Open-Air Museum you are guided through 400 years of Hessian history. The Museum is organized into five groups of buildings, representing the regions they have been relocated from. These groups of buildings are named after the rivers, characterizing that particular landscape. « back |
